CIM Finish Line & Festival Guide
You’ve done it and a hero’s welcome awaits you! Featuring the marathon and relay finish lines, official CIM merchandise, post-race food and drink, recovery opportunities and all things marathon, the CIM finish line has been a beehive of activity since pre-dawn hours and is definitely the place to celebrate with family and friends.
New for this year: The CIM finish festival remains in the same location, but the layout is new. please review the map and following information below.

Finish Line and Festival Hours
- 8:00 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.
Mass Finish Line
- 7th Street & Capitol Mall
- This Mass finish is for all marathon runners and Relay Leg 2 runners.
- Approaches via L Street → left on 8th Street → right onto Capitol Mall.
USATF Championship Finish Line
- 9th Street & Capitol Mall
- For men running sub-2:20 and women running sub-2:40.Men’s Championship Finish closes at 9:20 a.m.; Women’s closes at 9:40 a.m.
- Route approaches L Street → left on 8th Street → left onto Capitol Mall. Athletes arriving after cutoff are redirected to the Mass Finish.
Finish Festival Location
- 10th Street & Capitol Mall and West side of the California State Capitol
Runner Reunion Zone
- Located in the grass median of the Capitol Mall median between 8th & 9th Streets
- All runners, spectators, and family members should have a reunion plan in place before the race even begins.
- Overhead signs will be alphabetized A-Z. After runners exit the controlled finisher zone, they can walk to the sign that corresponds with their name and wait for family or friends to meet them there.
Gear Check Pickup
- Located at 9th Street & Capitol Mall, next to the Sutter Club VIP area.
Finish Festival Amenities
- Post-Race Party Zone on the north side of 10th Street
- Free Baja Fresh burrito for participants
- Free Firestone Walker beer for runners (ID required)
- Food trucks + coffee options
- Self-serve water station
- CIM Stage on Capitol steps for Announcements and Championship Awards
- Photo Ops, including the famous “BQ Bell”
- Fleet Feet/ASICS Official CIM Merchandise Tent on south side of 10th Street
Finish Line Closing Timeline
The Finish Line closes at 1:30pm SHARP, 6 hours after the sweep runners marking the end of the race cross the start Start Line at 7:30am. So ALL runners have opportunity to finish under the strict and agreed upon course 6 hour cut-off that is a requirement of our municipal permits.
NO Finish Area services (race medals, finish times, recovery and finisher items, medical services, etc.) can be guaranteed for runners after the 6 hour finish cutoffs.
Finish Festival will remain open until 2pm for all runners and spectators.

Entry Points & Security
All spectators must enter from the south side of the finish area through:
- 9th & N Street Gate
- 10th & N Street Gate
All bags are subject to inspection.
Spectator Notes:
- There is no ability to cross the course or enter the finish area from the north side along L Street.
- Pedestrian crossovers to travel between the north and south sides of the finish area are ONLY at 5th and 15th Streets — There is NO crossover or finish area access anywhere between 5th and 15th along L street
- Spectator bleaches are located past the Runner Reunion Zone near 7th & Capitol Mall grass median.
Parking
- Metered street parking, lots, and garages will be available on downtown on race morning
Rideshare & Pick Up/Drop-Off
- Roosevelt Park (1615 9th St WB, Sacramento, CA 95814)
- Participants and spectators cannot be dropped off at entrance and exit gates; they must use the designated rideshare & runner pick up/drop off location.
Return Buses
Athletes staying at partner hotels in Point West or Folsom:
- Return buses load on N Street between 9th & 10th
- Continuous service from 10:30 a.m. – 1:45 p.m.
Finish Line Security Procedures
