CIM Charity Program

The Sacramento Running Association is committed to helping fundraise for Sacramento-area non-profits organizations, charities, service organizations, and school groups and clubs.  Local charities and non-profit organizations annually raise over $1 million through Sacramento Running Association events, including the California International Marathon.

SRA_Kids_LogoSRA Kids: The Sacramento Running Association (SRA) is committed to educating our community on the benefits of a healthy lifestyle through running. Youth fitness is a huge part of that commitment! The FREE programs developed by the SRA include the STRIDE program in Sacramento City Unified School District, fall cross country meets, Spring Track Program, and several short distance fun runs and relays held in conjunction with longer SRA events.

Logo with River_PRIDE tagline_Stacked no RiverAmerican River Parkway Foundation: The American River Parkway is  Sacramento’s “crown jewel,” a “blueprint for urban parks,” and the greatest recreational asset to our community. The Parkway makes our region an ideal place to live, work and play. The American River Parkway Foundation works with Sacramento County Department of Parks and Recreation to care for the American River Parkway year round. The Parkway Foundation works to support the conservation and enjoyment of the American River Parkway by fostering environmental education, stewardship and volunteer opportunities.

Runnin’ for Rhett is a non-profit organization that aims to inspire people to "Move into Life". Runnin' for Rhett partners with the Sacramento Running Association to facilitate a youth fitness program in Sacramento area schools to prepare thousands of local students to run the CIM Marafun 5k.

Fundraise for a CIM-Affiliated Charity

Are you interested in raising money and awareness for an organization? CIM registration is open through select affiliated charities. These organizations have guaranteed entries available with your commitment to support fundraising efforts.

How to register through a CIM-affiliated charity:

  • Contact one of the charity organizations listed below.
  • Each registrant must commit to raising at least $500 for their organization.
    • An initial $250 fee is due to the CIM-affiliated charity prior to registration.
    • Once the fee is paid, the participant will receive an access code to register and pay for the California International Marathon at the Blue Level. The access code will allow the participant to register at the $180 Blue Level price, even if the race is sold out. Pricing includes all fees.
      No refunds, transfers or deferrals will be allowed.
  • Participants must pay for marathon registration themselves.
  • Participants are required to pay for the remaining charity donation before race day, either by fundraising or paying the amount themselves.
  • Organizations may provide meet-ups, communications, and incentives for registered runners. Contact the organization for more information.
FUNDRAISING SCHEDULE
Before registration $250 paid directly to charity organization
During registration $180 paid to CIM during the registration process
(No refunds, transfers or deferrals allowed.)
After registration and before race day $250 paid directly to charity organization
(through fundraising or personal payment)
Total cost & funds raised $500 for charity organization

+ $180 for CIM registration

= $680 Pricing includes all fees.
