Packet Pick-up:

Saturday, April 11: 12pm – 5pm
Sunday, April, 12: 7:00am – 10:00am
Location: 4th Street at Capitol Mall south

Runners will be required to present their confirmation QR code in order to pick up their race packet. QR codes can be found in your original confirmation email and will also be resent to all runners with the final race instructions.

Participants in the Road Mile must also declare their selected start wave. Please review Waves 1–4 and determine your preferred wave before arriving at packet pick-up.

If you are picking up a packet on behalf of a friend or family member, please ensure that you have their QR code available. If they are registered for the Road Mile, you must also know which wave they have selected for the start.

Event Schedule

8:30am — SACTOWN 5K run+walk (1 hour course limit)
9:30am — SACTOWN Road Mile begins (6 separate waves)

  • 9:30am Wave 1 — Community Mile (recommended for joggers, walkers, families, and non-competitive participants)
  • 9:55am Wave 2 — “Breaking 7:00” (recommended for time-conscious runners of all ages looking for the challenge of a timed mile and aiming to run anywhere from 6:30-9:00 for a mile) (note-Credit Union Team competition will take place in this wave, so all Credit Union teams should participate in this wave)
  • 10:05am Wave 3 — “Breaking 6:00” (recommended for competitive runners of all ages that expect to run under 6:30, including PA age group runners, youth/scholastic competitive runners, competitive club runners, etc.)
  • 10:15am Wave 4 — “Breaking 5:00” (recommended for highly-competitive racers that expect to run under 5:30, including PA open and age group runners, top youth/scholastic athletes, and sub-elite club runners)
  • 10:25am Wave 5 — Elite Women (restricted to accepted Elite athletes, contact elites@runsra.org)
  • 10:35am Wave 6 — Elite Men (restricted to accepted Elite athletes, contact elites@runsra.org)
Road Mile wave assignments:

At Packet Pick-up, Road Mile participants will be able to choose which wave they want to participate in and will be assigned a bib for that wave. Once bib is assigned, participant must compete in their chosen wave. Note: Elite waves are restricted to accepted Elite Athletes only, participants cannot place themselves in those waves.

“Double racing” NOT allowed: It is NOT permitted to run in multiple events (ie the 5k AND Road Mile) nor in multiple waves of the Road Mile. In order to maintain results integrity, unfortunately, runners will NOT be able to participate in different events/waves with the same bib.

Age Group Awards:

Top 3 male and female awards for the following age brackets: 14 years and under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, and 80+ (for both the 5k and the Road Mile).

Prize Money:

CU SACTOWN 1-Mile Prize Purse:
1st – $2000, 2nd – $1000, 3rd – $500 (Male and Female)

Time Bonuses (one or the other)
$1000 bonus to the winner if they run sub-4:00 for men/sub-4:35 for women.
$500 bonus for running under 4:10 for men/4:50 for women (Pro-rated if more than 5 athletes per gender run under the time)

Athletes interested in competing for the above mentioned prize purse must race in the elite wave. To be accepted into the elite wave please email elites@runsra.org

In addition to the above mentioned prize purse, PAUSATF member athletes will have the standard $2900 PAUSATF prize purse available and can compete for that prize money from any mile wave.

Parking:
  • Metered on-street parking in the Capitol area is available on Sundays. To reserve parking in a garage or lot prior to the event, please visit SacPark Event Parking.
  • Additionally, all city lots and garages will be maintaining their regular Sunday hours and rates during the event.
  • Due to ample street parking in the vicinity of the start and finish lines, there will not be any gear check at this event.
Rules and Guidelines for All Entrants:
  • No pets.
  • No unregistered runners, walkers, or pacers.
  • Wearing headphones, iPods, or Walkman-type radios is discouraged.
  • No baby joggers, inline skates, or bicycles.
  • No one other than the runner who officially registered may use the bib number with the timing tag issued to that runner. Transferring and/or selling your bib is prohibited.
  • The start line closes 5 minutes after the start time of the given race. Runners who attempt to start after this time will not be allowed to start.
  • Bib numbers must not be altered, should be worn on the front of the runner, and be clearly visible at all times.
  • We reserve all finisher medals for finishers and do not provide extra medals or ‘buddy’ medals for any of our events.
