Credit Union SACTOWN Run Final Runner Instructions 2026 (1-Mile)

We are so pleased you will be joining us for the 2026 Credit Union SACTOWN Run Road Mile. Please read these important pre-race instructions below.

Action required before you arrive at Packet Pick-up.  Read the Wave Assignment section below.  


Run for Good – California and Nevada Credit Unions and their business partners have raised over $200,000 at the 2026 Credit Union SACTOWN Run for Children's Miracle Network Hospitals throughout California and Nevada.

Over the last 15 years at the Credit Union SACTOWN Run, Credit Unions have raised over $3 million for the Children's Miracle Network. Thank you to everyone who has supported this great cause.


Race Week Schedule

Saturday, April 11

12:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. – Packet Pick-up

Sunday, April 12
7:00 – 10:00 a.m. – Packet Pick-up 


8:15 a.m. – In-Shape Fitness Warm Up
8:30 a.m. – 5k Start
9:30 a.m. – Road Mile – Wave 1 Start

9:55 a.m. – Road Mile – Wave 2 Start
10:05 a.m. – Road Mile – Wave 3 Start
10:15 a.m. – Road Mile – Wave 4 Start
10:25 a.m. – Elite Road Mile (Women)
10:35 a.m. – Elite Road Mile (Men)
12:00 p.m. – Finish Festival Closes


Action Required – Wave Assignments

  • Runners will need to declare their wave choice during packet pick-up.
  • Know your wave choice before you arrive.  
  • Wave 1Community Mile (recommended for joggers, walkers, families, and non-competitive participants)
  • Wave 2“Breaking 7:00” (recommended for time-conscious runners of all ages looking for the challenge of a timed mile and aiming to run anywhere from 6:30-9:00+ for a mile) (note – Credit Union Team competition will take place in this wave, so all Credit Union teams should participate in this wave as well as Credit Union business partners and legislative teams)
  • Wave 3“Breaking 6:00” (recommended for competitive runners of all ages that expect to run under 6:30, including PA age group runners, youth/scholastic competitive runners, competitive club runners, etc.)
  • Wave 4“Breaking 5:00” (recommended for highly-competitive racers that expect to run under 5:30, including PA open and age group runners, top youth/scholastic athletes, and sub-elite club runners)
  • Wave 5Elite Women (restricted to accepted Elite athletes)
  • Wave 6Elite Men (restricted to accepted Elite athletes)

Packet Pick-up

Location: 4th Street just south of Capitol Mall

Saturday, April 11: 12pm – 5pm
Sunday, April, 12: 7:000am – 10:00am
  • Have your QR code ready.
  • Have your Wave Declaration ready.
  • Preassigned Elite Runners, go straight to the solutions table for your bib.
  • Pro Tip for Saturday!  The longest lines of the day are in the morning, just as we open for business.
  • Pro Tip for Sunday!  If you are picking up your bib race morning, give yourself plenty of time to park and get through the packet line. Check the road closure schedule and plan accordingly.  
Runners will need to provide their personalized QR codes for bib assignment.  If you are picking up for a friend please have their QR code as well. 

A photo of the code on your phone is fine. 


Parking
  • Metered on-street parking in the Capitol area is available on Sundays. To reserve parking in a garage or lot prior to the event, please visit SacPark Event Parking. Reserve before race day to receive 20% off.
  • Additionally, all city lots and garages will be maintaining their regular Sunday hours and rates during the event.
  • Due to ample street parking in the vicinity of the start and finish lines, there will not be any gear check at this event.
  • Be sure to arrive before the road closures so you do not miss your race! You can find the list of closure locations and time HERE.
  • Race morning – the Tower Bridge will close by 7:00 a.m.

This event will take place rain or shine so please keep an eye on the weather and dress appropriately.  

Race Results and Awards

Computer kiosks will be available after the race to check your results. There will also be live results available HERE

 

Age group awards will be available for pick-up after the races. Road Mile awards will be available just after the last mile wave. They will be located near Packet Pick-up.  We do not ship unclaimed awards.


Free "Sub-Club" Pins!
If you run a sub-5, sub-6, sub-7, or sub-8 in the mile, stop by the results and awards tent to pick up a pin to show off your skills!


RunSac Race Series
Not signed up for the RunSac Race Series Competitive Division yet?  You can still add the Competitive Division before race day on April 12. The Grand Prix is a year-long points competition where runners earn points based on their age-group placing at select races. Beer Garden

The "Firestone Walker/805" Beer Garden will be located on Capitol Mall just outside the finish chute. All finishers over 21 years of age will receive a FREE post-race beer courtesy of Firestone Walker. PLEASE HAVE YOUR ID IF YOU WOULD LIKE A BEER!
