Elite Team members finish high in USATF Cross Country final

Tim Tollefson finished 58th and Austin Ramos placed 59th to highlight the Sacramento Running Association’s effort at the USA Track & Field National Club Cross Country Championships Saturday in Lexington, Ky.

Kevin Pool added an 86th-place finish for the SRA Elite men’s team, which competed without Daniel Tapia, who was recovering from his victory in the California International Marathon.

Tollefson covered the 10k course in 31 minutes, 54.31 seconds, just ahead of Ramos’ 31:55.37 effort. Pool finished in 32:19.98.

There were 338 runners in the men’s open division.
The Sacramento Running Association, which puts on the CIM, is a non-profit organization dedicated to finding ways to encourage people of all ages and abilities to run. The SRA is committed to developing new, quality running events that appeal to a broad variety of runners.
Other SRA events include the recently concluded Lake Natoma Four Bridges Half Marathon, the Super Bowl Sunday 10k Run on Feb. 3 and the Credit Union SACTOWN Ten-Mile Run on April 7.

SRA beneficiaries include the American River Parkway, youth fitness programs, local running venues and aspiring young runners.
