Alyssa Cantarutti
I started running in 2013 as a way to stay fit while I was in school. Since then, I’ve run several half marathons and shorter races. I made so many amazing friends in the running community, and in 2016 they finally convinced me to run my first marathon, which was CIM. I loved the longer distance and the challenge of the marathon – I even BQ’ed at CIM!

I run for my health, to provide inspiration for friends and family, and to honor all my patients ( I fight cancer ). I LOVE CIM for many reasons: fast downhill course, organization, cool weather, but most of all because of the AWESOME vibe!

Running has helped me to be a better person to myself, my family and to anyone who crosses my path. CIM is my favorite marathon course because of a strong camaraderie between runners, pacers and volunteers.

When I began Running 5 years ago I never thought I would of fallen in love with running and that it would transform me beyond the physical aspect. Nowadays as a Mom, Running hs serve as a way to have my “me time” but also to push myself out of my comfort zone and doing so has allowed me to grow not just as a Runner but also in all aspects of my life.

When I started running in my late 20s, I never would have imagined that it would enrich my life in so many ways. I’m now part of an amazing running community, have become a stronger person both mentally and physically, and have accomplished things that an earlier version of myself would have never thought possible. After a three year hiatus while focusing on triathlon, I chose CIM for my return to the marathon distance for the fast course, temperate weather, and rave reviews; and am really looking forward to my first CIM experience!

I was introduced to CIM by my best running friend from California. I love the rolling hills and plentiful bathrooms at the start! My love of running has exploded in the last 5 years. CIM 2016 was my 9th marathon in 2016 and 24th overall. I am eagerly looking forward to CIM in 2017 (it’s a great getaway from Wisconsin winter!).

I discovered running after graduating from college where I swam competitively. Craving a community and a sport that would keep me active (and sane), I found running. Thirteen marathons and countless other races later, I have not turned back! I ran my first CIM in 2016 — complete with a BQ and huge PR — and was able to race with my dad and best friend (everyone walked away with a BQ!).

I run to seek my personal limits. I love that the CIM experience helps runners get close to their own ceiling.

I am a scientist by training, a baker by passion & a runner by accident (literally!). I am a new runner and have lost about 60lbs by being dedicated and staying committed to my goal, do not quit. I have completed 5 half marathon and several other local running events. CIM 2017 is going to be my first full marathon! I want to share what I have learned through running with others and hope to ignite that spark within them to take the leap of setting a goal and making it happen.

In 2012 I went from coach potato to marathoner. Since then I have continued running and am now a pacer with Beast Pacing. CIM is one of my favorite marathons due to its course, spectators, and location. I am excited to be a part of the CIM ambassador team and look forward to running CIM again in 2017!

I started my fitness journey at 264.2 pounds, and while losing weight, found a love of running along the way. I am honored to represent CIM as an ambassador for its 35th year because I will be running the marathon to celebrate my 30th birthday! #from264point2to26point2
