School Year Program

Runs anytime between August 2016 and June 2017

The SRA School Year Program begins as early as August at the start of the school year and continues to the end of the school year.The Program incorporates the SRA Fall CIM Program managed by the Sacramento Running Association’s youth fitness partner Runnin’ for Rhett. Program leaders interested in the School Year Program are encouraged to start their program prior to the start date for the Fall CIM Program and then to continue and allow the children to build up to 50-, 75- and 100-mile cumulative distances during the school year.

Provided FREE by the SRA and Runnin’ for Rhett:
  • 7-week training program to be implemented during the SRA Fall CIM portion of the program
  • Twice weekly training sessions that focus on proper running technique, stretches and nutrition
  • Achievement ribbons for 5K, 10K, 13.1-mile (half marathon), 26.2-mile (marathon), 50-mile, 75-mile and 100-mile cumulative distances (see below!)
  • Program t-shirt and wristband
  • Finisher’s medal
  • A special SRA branded award for 50-, 75- and 100-mile cumulative distances (shhh…they are a surprise!)
  • Exposure of and opportunity to participate in the various kid’s runs held in conjunction with SRA races throughout the year
