I sometimes get discouraged because I’m not progressing as quickly as I’d like, but in running, as with any endeavor, it’s important to remember how far you’ve come. We are all our own worst critics and goals are important – they push us to improve, but it’s also important to appreciate the progress you’ve already made. When I first took up running I couldn’t finish 3 miles without stopping to walk. Now I’m training for my third marathon. Not every race will produce a PR, but you’re still moving forward. Give yourself a break and a pat on the back for all your effort ?? .
